About Us
We are Christmas in Clinton Township, a charitable organization based out of Metro Detroit. Our objective is to help less fortunate families during the holiday season. In the first 9 years, we’ve given over $100,000 to schools in our district, which has benefitted more than 2,100 kids. Our event started out with an attendance of approximately 85 people, and in 2019 our attendance was just shy of 400!
Elaine and Greg Adamo, a husband and wife team, are the founders of the organization. After going through some tough times themselves during 2008 and 2009, they decided to start Christmas in Clinton Township. They have gone through the hard times and know how stressful it can be for parents trying to raise a family under those circumstances. Unfortunately, not a lot of people have the support of family and friends to pull through tough times so they decided to bring the network to them, bringing Christmas joy during the holiday season.
In 2019 alone, we gave away a little over $24,000 in gift cards. Those proceeds went to 6 elementary schools and two of the middle schools in the Chippewa Valley School District. This year, we provided a little help to two elementary schools in the Fraser District that are in Clinton Twp. MI. 3 Years ago we decided also to host a golf outing in June. The proceeds from the golf outing have been offering schools financial support for families who need back-to-school clothing and/or supplies for their children. Over the years, we’ve also been able to provide relief to a few families who needed to make rent or utility payments.
We are so thrilled with the support we’ve received from family, friends, and the other community members that has enabled this event to grow every year.
